Wisteria Place Newsletter June 2022

Posted on June 21st, 2022

May was a month full of celebrations, new beginnings, and growth. Our sales team has been hard at work leasing the remaining suites. This month we have welcomed many new residents and there are many more to come.

In May, we also celebrated Mother’s Day with all our lovely residents, their children, and all of the amazing Mothers in our community. We hosted a fabulous brunch and had Gustavo Herrera perform for our Mother’s Day celebration.

June is a busy month here at Wisteria Place. Heading into the summer, we hope to make good use of our beautiful outdoor spaces. Weather permitting, we will be moving our happy hour to the patio and main courtyard. “Martinis with Sheila,” our General Manager, will be our patio season debut! We are excited to finally be able to use our patio space.

On June 5th, we had our baseball caps and crackerjacks ready; the Wisteria Place bus took our residents to the Vancouver Canadians baseball game, where they played the Spokane Indians at Scotiabank Field Nat Bailey Stadium.

Another fun trip on our list for June is a classic car show. Again, family and friends are more than welcome to join us. This will be an excellent opportunity to reminisce about the cars of the past and enjoy the beautiful designs.

Wisteria Place will be celebrating all the amazing fathers in our community on June 19th with a special happy hour and brunch.

Royal High Tea

On Victoria Day, we had a royal tea party to celebrate Queen Victoria.
Residents enjoyed making their own hats for the party! We love their creativity!

Frank the Bag Piper

We welcomed Frank the Bag Piper on Mother's Day to play for our residents. Invites were sent in the mail to residents and the local community. It was a great experience, we are glad he came!

Farmers Market

Steveston’s Farmers Market will be making a return this summer, and Wisteria Place will have an information booth set up with ways to win prizes on July 3rd and August 7th. We will also be taking the residents on a walk and drive to the market for those that are interested. There are many different vendors and all kinds of activities—a great event to get you out in the sunshine and exploring!

Nothing but Tooth!

This month is our first-time featuring Dr. Ed Edwards from Mobile Denture Clinic, providing us with great information on denture care.

Do your dentures move like Elvis?

If that’s something you’re noticing about your dentures then we recommend considering having your existing dentures re-fitted to your gum size.

Gums and supporting bones change shape over time for a host of reasons.

It could be a weight loss of 6-10 pounds. Changes in medications can account for changes in our mouth as well as the rest of our body. Common diseases like diabetes and high blood pressure can negatively affect the fit of dentures over time. Having dentures that fit well makes enjoying our meals so much better. Realigning dentures can be done in as little as 48 hours from measurement to delivery.

If you need more information just speak with Cathrine, the Mobile Denture Care Coordinator, at 778-999-7929.

We come to you. It’s what we do!
